Woods for handrails

Both Southeast Asian Teak and Genuine Mahogany work well. Teak is less flexible, but both woods can be bent to fit as handrails. We do require a tracing of the curvature of the hull in order to tailor the handrails to fit your yacht.

Finish for Hand Rails

Hand rails require special finishing in order to get the desired results. Since they are continually exposed to Sun and Sea the finish has to be especially tough and resistant to both. We currently offering, Cetol or Interlux Gold Spar 95, or your choice of Marine Varnish. 6-8 coats, this combined with 1 coat of grain filler, 2 coats of marine sealer, combined with the 8 coats of finish create a barrier against both sun and sea.
