Custom built teak and holly cabin sole for a 28 Bertram

Custom engineered cabin sole for a 28 Bertram.

Hand made 1/4" veneer finished thickness ž"

Teak 2 3/8" wide,

Holly 1/4" wide,

Both 1/4" thick.

Laminated to 1/2" thick mahogany plywood,

Type 1 marine adhesive.

Finished thickness 3/4",

We build all hatch sections and trim around all hatches, inside and out, where the hatch fits into the sections with 3/4" solid teak.

It was built from templates and pictures from our customer.

Hatch Hardware - Recessed Stainless Steel Pull Rings

The photo on the right shows the teak and holly cabin sole pulled apart so you can see the separate sections. The hardest parts of this cabin sole are the sides that are very narrow.

Here is the above teak and cabin sole installed in the 28 Bertram. We want to thank Eddy for sending these to us. He did a great job installing. You can see the step on the bottom of the picture. Traditionally steps are solid teak rather than teak and holly but our customer wanted it teak and holly. This is the look you get.

One of the reasons we want digitals along with templates and details of the floor is so we can get the teak and holly running smoothly in the same direction.. All our hatches are trimmed in solid teak.
